This annual award recognises an individual, club, team or small business on the Sunshine Coast who, or which, aims to accommodate everyone into their chosen sport regardless of background and capacity.
Improving accessibility and inclusivity in sports, including for people of all and any age, the LGBTIQ+ community, people with disability, people who find barriers to taking part in sport for a variety of reasons, people from under-represented cultural and ethnic backgrounds, and local and overseas visitors.
Nominations are encouraged from any individual, club, team or small business for the SCS Inclusivity Award, including customers, community members, small businesses owners and staff.
Self-nominations are also welcome.
Nominations will be assessed on the following criteria:
- The individual, club, team or small business's promotion of inclusivity and accessibility to sport in its physical environment.
- The individual, club, team or small business's promotion of inclusivity and accessibility to sport in its policies and procedures.
- Any other significant adjustments made to sport to improve inclusivity and accessibility to sport, made by the individual, club, team or small business.
